Emami acquires stake in US-based personal care business Loli Beauty

Dubai-based healthcare products manufacturer Emami International has acquired a 7.54% stake in US-based personal care business Loli Beauty.

The company has invested around $565,000 in the acquisition, subscribing to 12,28,261 Series Seed Prime Preferred Stock (SSPPS).

Established in 2014, Loli Beauty offers an assortment of natural and organic personal care products that utilise a blend-it-yourself (BIY) concept. It has products under various categories, including skin, hair and body care products produced using food-grade ingredients.

One of Emami’s promoters has acquired an additional 1.33% stake through an investment of $100,000 for 2,17,391 SSPPS in Loli Beauty.

This latest acquisition marks Enami’s third investment in the cosmetics segment in the last six months.

In February this year, Emami signed an agreement to make a strategic investment in hair and skincare brand Brillare Science.

In December 2017, it agreed to buy a 30% stake in personal care business Helios Lifestyle, which owns online premium male grooming brand, The Man Company.

Based in India, Emami manufactures and markets personal care, healthcare and beauty products. The company offers more than 300 products under various brands, including Navratna, Boroplus, Zandu, Fair and Handsome and Kesh King.

It also operates a domestic distribution network in the country with more than 3,500 distributors and 4,000 sub-distributors, as well as a presence in 725,000 retail outlets.
