Canada’s Chatters Hair Salon reopens salons with new safety protocols

Chatters Hair Salon is gradually reopening its locations in Canada with new safety protocol for their employees and clients.

The updated safety protocol introduced by Chatters is aimed to make both guests and associates feel comfortable and safe.

As part of the new safety protocols, the company’s salons are currently not accepting walk-in appointments. They have also closed down their waiting area and limited the salon services to hair services.

To further ensure the safety and wellbeing, Chatters is now offering a pre-visit phone consultation to clients before in-salon appointment. The guests will be provided with fresh capes, hand sanitisation and hand washing facilities.

Additionally, all employees are required to wear proper PPE including mask, apron and gloves. Stylists will have a clean workstation ready for every guest and they will practice proper sanitisation between each appointment.

The company has taken a provincial mandated staggered approach to reopen salons. It has currently reopened six locations in Manitoba, followed by 40 locations in Alberta, 26 locations in British Columbia, and 10 locations in Saskatchewan.

Earlier in March, Chatters closed all its 115 locations across Canada in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Chatters Hair Salon president and CEO Greg Moreau said: “We made this decision in the best interest of both our associates and our guests, as their health and safety are our number one priority.

“We can’t wait to have our guests back in the chair. That being said, this is a very sensitive time and we have taken every precaution we can to ensure a safe environment for all.”
