Beautycounter gets strategic investment from Mousse Partners

Counter Brands’ cosmetics firm Beautycounter has received a strategic investment from Mousse Partners.

The investment will help develop Beautycounter’s omnichannel business, support capital investments in technology, and enhance digital and brand marketing.

Beautycounter CEO and founder Gregg Renfrew said: “We believe consumers have the right to safe products without sacrificing quality or performance. Mousse Partner’s investment will aid us in our mission to deliver consumers better products they can trust.

“They will be instrumental in helping us accelerate our growth as the leader in not only the safe beauty space, but the beauty industry as a whole.”

As part of the transaction, Mousse Partners’ managing director and head of US private equity Parker Hayden will join Beautycounter’s board of directors.

Founded by Gregg Renfrew in 2011, Beautycounter’s products include skincare, colour cosmetics, advanced anti-ageing therapies, baby products and personal care collections.

Beautycounter’s products are currently sold through a multi-channel distribution platform, which includes a network of independent consultants, e-commerce, and strategic retail partners.
