Cosmetics company Maison de Senteurs produces disinfectant gel

Tunisian cosmetics producer Maison de Senteurs began production of disinfectant gel in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, with support from the EBRD and European Union (EU).

The company has 11 stores across the country and also offers its creams, perfumes, home fragrances and other products in a shop in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as well as online for consumers abroad.

Supernatural forays into hand sanitiser industry

Home care brand Supernatural made an entry into antibacterial products with Supernatural Hand Sanitiser.

The sanitiser is made with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommended 65% ethyl alcohol and pure essential oils. It also contains vitamin B, E, K and choline, calcium, magnesium and trace minerals.

The company noted that product offers a sustainable option for the eco-conscious consumer as it uses ethyl alcohol that is said to be naturally derived from corn. In addition, the product is launched in reusable glass bottles reduces plastic waste from the environment.

e.l.f. Beauty adds new CBD collection to skincare portfolio

e.l.f. Beauty announced the expansion of its skincare portfolio with the addition of a Full Spectrum CBD collection that features face and body care products.

The products in this collection include a 100 MG CBD Facial Oil, 50 MG CBD Moisturizer, 50 MG CBD Eye Cream and 50 MG Body Cream, as well as a 5 MG CBD Lip Oil.

The collection features notes of invigorating Japanese citrus and calming chamomile. Its rich formula helps soothe, moisturise and restore skin.

North Coast Organics debuts Grateful Dead organic deodorant line

US Department of Agriculture (USDA)-certified organic body care company North Coast Organics partnered with US rock band Grateful Dead.

As part of this collaboration, the company has launched the official Grateful Dead USDA organic deodorant line.

North Coast Organics founder and CEO Nathan Morin said: “The Grateful Dead have inspired us to stay true to our main mission of social responsibility. We took care in creating special essential oil blends that reference the Grateful Dead’s music.”

Kiehl’s launched Vital Skin-Strengthening Hyaluronic Acid Super Serum to strengthen skin’s resilience, suppleness and plumpness.

Claimed to be an ultra-lightweight and biocompatible, the fast-absorbing serum is powered by 11kDa Hyaluronic Acid and an Adaptogenic Herbal Complex.

The serum helps to tackle the signs of ageing and is claimed to make the skin look healthy, youthful after just four weeks.

Unilever to rebrand skin-lightening product in India after widespread criticism

British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company Unilever announced that it will be removing words such as ‘fair/fairness’, ‘white/whitening’, and ‘light/lightening’ from its products’ packs and communication in India.

The new initiative is said to be the company’s next step in the evolution of its skincare portfolio to a more inclusive vision of beauty.

Unilever Beauty & Personal Care president Sunny Jain said: “We are fully committed to having a global portfolio of skincare brands that is inclusive and cares for all skin tones, celebrating greater diversity of beauty.”

Amerikas to distribute Apivita’s beauty products in US

Amerikas entered an exclusive distribution partnership to introduce Apivita’s beauty products in the US.

A portfolio of more than 60 natural solutions for the hair, face and body will be introduced. These products are claimed to have clinically shown efficacy.

Amerikas is already the US distributor of brands such as Bioderma, Embryolisse, and Benamôr.

Coty to acquire 20% stake in Kim Kardashian’s beauty business

Coty entered an agreement to acquire a 20% stake in reality TV star Kim Kardashian West’s make-up brand KKW for $200m.

This takes the valuation of KKW to around $1bn.

Under the agreement, Coty will have the responsibility for the portfolio’s development in skincare, haircare, personal care and nail products, and leverage its deep understanding of the industry and its commercial and go-to-market expertise.
