Greater Cannabis Company forays into CBD cosmetics and beauty market

US-based biopharmaceutical firm Greater Cannabis Company expanded into the cannabidiol (CBD) beauty, cosmetics and self-care markets.

The company is currently formulating and commercialising a new range of products for CBD-infused cosmetics and skincare applications.

Greater Cannabis Company CEO Aitan Zacharin said: “Consumer demand for CBD-infused beauty products has prompted major retailers such as Walgreens, Sephora and CVS, and major cosmetic brands like Estee Lauder, to move into this emerging sector.”

Merz unveils new line of dermal filler products for lip enhancement

Medical aesthetics solutions provider Merz launched Belotero Lips, a new line of dermal filler products designed for lip enhancement and treatment of perioral lines.

Belotero Lips includes two hyaluronic acid (HA) products, Belotero Lips Shape and Belotero Lips Contour, which complement each other to deliver safe and natural-looking cosmetic results.

The new Belotero Lips line has been designed to target a broader and youthful audience.

LG Household & Health Care to buy New Avon for $125m

LG Household & Health Care signed a definitive agreement with an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management (Cerberus) and Avon Products (Avon Worldwide) to buy New Avon (Avon North America) for $125m.

The purchase price will be paid in cash.

LG H&H will buy Cerberus’ majority interest and Avon Worldwide’s minority interest in Avon North America.

lululab is a spin-off company of C-Lab, Samsung Electronics’ in-house venture programme.

The AI-based skincare assistant LUMINI offers a three-step service including face scanning, skin analysis, and product recommendation.

Amorepacific, Sephora partner to launch Laneige brand in Europe

Korean cosmetics company Amorepacific partnered with Sephora to launch its premium brand Laneige in Europe.

The launch collection includes Laniege’s Water Bank Moisture Cream with hydro-ionised mineral water that provides deep hydration and the night-time skincare item Water Sleeping Mask.

The newly introduced hydration-focused brand Laneige will be available in more than 800 Sephora stores across 18 markets in Europe, including France, Russia, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Germany.
