La Roche-Posay launches prebiotic skincare collection

La Roche-Posay has launched a new prebiotic skincare collection comprising of Toleriane moisturisers and cleansers.

The Toleriane Double Repair Moisturiser contains a high-concentration of prebiotic thermal spring water, which is made up of prebiotic ingredients.

The new products also contain ceramide-3, which improves moisture retention and Niacinamide with soothing properties.

The moisturiser is claimed to achieve barrier recovery after just one hour, delivering up to 48 hours of hydration and restoring skin's essential lipids.

Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser can be used by a range of skin types, from normal to oily. It eliminates excess oil, while Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser is suitable for normal to dry skin and retains moisture.

La Roche-Posay conducted five years of research and 13 clinical studies to understand the micro-organisms present in the skin and the microbiome's inter-correlation with the physical skin barrier. This research indicated that prebiotics support a positive diverse skin microbiome such as the firm incorporated into its Thermal Spring Water using mineral composition and trace elements.
