MDR Aesthetics launches hand-held skin imaging device DermID

MDR Aesthetics has launched DermID, a hand-held skin imaging device to enable aestheticians to visualise skin damage and cosmetic concerns that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

DermID uses optically based technology called fluorescence technology, which makes use of blue light at a depth of 425-460nm. This helps skincare specialists in visualising damaged skin cells located deep in the dermis layer of the skin.

Fluorescence technology along with patent pending yellow lenses produces a frequency that enables users to visualise what the naked eye cannot see skin problems such as photodamage, allergy or skin irritation, clogged pores, etc.
