Amorepacific establishes new R&I facility in Singapore

Beauty firm Amorepacific Group has established a new research and innovation (R&I) laboratory within bioscience park Biopolis in Singapore.

Biopolis is a biomedical research and development centre managed by Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR).

The new facility is expected to aid Amorepacific in joint research with A*STAR, to improve research efforts in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, to discover technologies, and to enhance global research exchanges.

Amorepacific's research and development (R&D) management division head SimWook Youg said: “Amorepacific has increased its research base for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region through cooperation with the world-class research organisation, A*STAR.

“Combining Amorepacific’s superb research capability with local research insights, Amorepacific is gearing up to provide the most optimised solutions for beauty customers in the ASEAN region.”

The laboratory has also entered into a joint research with a bioimaging institute supported by A*STAR, Singapore Bioimaging Consortium.

The beauty firm intends to boost its skin aging research via collaborative research effort on biomarkers.

Through partnerships with startups and researchers in the ASEAN region, the research and innovation (R&I) facility will help grow future technologies and discover new natural ingredients to design specialised products for the region.

Amorepacific has operations across Greater China, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and ASEAN, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
