Z Skin launches organic alternative to prescription acne treatments

US-based Z Skin Cosmetics has launched a new organic alternative to prescription acne treatments.

The new system has been engineered as an alternative to benzoyl-peroxide, the chemical in prescription acne treatments. Dermatologist Doris Malloy said: "The main problem my patients have with benzoyl-peroxide is that it bleaches everything.

“The formula by Z Skin Cosmetics has no chemicals in it, does not bleach surfaces, and I have yet to have a complaint about it from my patients."

Z Skin’s new formula helps to combat bacteria that thrives on the skin and causes acne, helps lighten dark marks and scars and prevents further breakouts. The treatment is also said to help reduce redness and inflammation.

The product is available to consumers over the counter and is also sold directly through doctors.

Recent studies found that 85% of the population experience acne, in which 20% comprises adults over the age of 25. Very few within the 60% of adults suffering from acne problems actually reported keeping up a regular regimen to combat and prevent it.

Malloy added: "Adults can get acne too, that's why it's very important to cleanse your skin every day."
