Amyris launches Biossance skincare products at Sephora

Under its beauty brand Biossance, Amyris has launched a range of skincare products on Sephora.com and select offline stores.

The skincare products contain plant-based squalene and are packaged in green bottles decorated with petal labels and copper detailing. The outer packaging is claimed to be made using renewable and sustainable sugarcane fibre.

The new range is claimed to minimise physical effects of stress on the skin and help maintain the natural biome.

Amyris' personal care senior vice-president Caroline Hadfield said: "We are delighted to offer Sephora's clients these high-performance products that make no compromises in regard to their formulations and packaging.

"Each product in the Biossance line uses only the most effective and conscious ingredients, so you know what you're putting on your skin is safe for you and for the environment."

Squalene oil is a multipurpose oil designed to hydrate and preserve essential moisture, while the antioxidant rich Squalane + Antioxidant cleansing oil helps in removing long-wear makeup and impurities.

The Squalane + Vitamin C rose oil is meant to brighten, firm, and even both skin tone and texture. The Squalane + Probiotic gel moisturiser hydrates, brightens, and balances skin, while Squalane + Peptide eye gel decreases puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.
