Kao to introduce skincare lines Sofina iP and Sofina beauté

Cosmetics company Kao Corporation is planning to launch its latest brand Sofina iP and the updated version of its skincare line Sofina beauté in Taiwan and Hong Kong this March.

Within the Sofina counter in Uni-President department store Taipei, Taiwan, the firm intends to open a specific section on 10 March that will provide personalised counselling based on a skin-analysis technology.

In November 2015, Kao revamped its Sofina brand.

The brand was initially launched in Japan in 1982, which then expanded to Taiwan in 1985, Hong Kong in 1985 and China in 2004.

The plan for the latest launches is a part of the firm's strategy to expand its refreshed brand in Asian markets.

In November 2015, Sofina iP was re-introduced through a triple-pronged approach involving research, product and communication.

Kao stated that Sofina iP and Sofina beauté basic skincare lines, which will hit stores in Taiwan and Hong Kong, were developed to serve as research and product pillars of the revamp and will also mark the start of the company's proposal of new skincare routines in Sofina iP base essence, Sofina lotion, and Sofina emulsion in these markets as well.

Kao's portfolio includes 20 brands such as Attack, Bioré, Goldwell, Jergens, John Frieda, Kanebo, Laurier, Merries and Molton Brown.

The firm also operates a chemical division.
