Kiehl’s relaunches Ultra Facial Cream with SPF 30

Cosmetics company Kiehl's has launched new Ultra Facial Cream Sunscreen SPF 30 to provide protection against ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays.

The original Ultra Facial Cream features a hydration formula designed to help keep dry skin hydrated for 24 hours.

The new light-textured cream can be used daily, protecting and soothing the skin even in harsh weather conditions by providing continuous moisture replenishment.

Ingredients used in the Ultra Facial Cream Sunscreen SPF 30 formulation include antarcticine and squalene, as well as a broad spectrum of sunscreen filters to enhance hydration,  act as a barrier, and restore the natural moisture balance of the skin.

Antarcticine is a glycoprotein sourced from the microorganism Pseudoalteromonas antarctica. It is said to have anti-freezing characteristics and triggers elastin formation.

Extracted from olives, Squalane features emollient properties, which coats the surface of the skin and helps retain moisture.

Clinical tests conducted to evaluate the formulation showed that it offers 24 hour hydration, boosting skin barrier function within one hour and aiding protection from UVA and UVB rays.

It was found that after using the sunscreen continuously for four weeks, 91.4% of subjects noticed their skin looked healthier.
