Beauty firm Tatcha secures investment from Castanea Partners

Luxury beauty and lifestyle company Tatcha has received a minority investment from consumer-focused private equity firm Castanea Partners.

Castanea Partners' industry and operating expertise is expected to aid the global growth potential of Tatcha, which is said to feature high-quality products and authentic brand heritage.

Tatcha founder and CEO Vicky Tsai said: “We're honoured to work with Castanea because of their unique experience in building luxury brands in beauty and beyond.

"Steve (Castanea managing partner) and Janet are star players in the beauty industry and have a reputation for being great partners.”

Founded in 2009, Tatcha works with Japanese and US scientists to offer a variety of skincare products such as moisturisers, cleansers, exfoliators, serums, mist, sunscreen, and masks.

The company’s product portfolio also comprises blotting papers, facial brushes and massagers.

Each formulation is based on Japanese Hadasei-3 anti-ageing superfood and original geisha beauty rituals involving green tea, rice, and algae.

Currently, Tatcha products are available for purchase at Barneys New York, Sephora, Joyce Beauty Hong Kong, Mecca Australia, and on the firm’s website.
