M&As this week: The Brenntag Group, Eurazeo

The Brenntag Group has agreed to acquire Wellstar Group in two steps, with purchase of a 51% stake this year and the remaining by 2021.

The Brenntag Group aims to support its presence in the Asia Pacific region through the acquisition.

Based in Hong Kong, Wellstar Group sells and distributes high-performance pigments, effect pigments, resins, and kaolin. Its products have cosmetics and industry applications such as coatings, inks, and plastics.

Eurazeo will acquire a 70% stake in Iberchem, a fragrances and flavours producer based in Spain.

The purchase consideration for the acquisition will be €270m ($306.2m).

The target company operates in more than 100 countries, with 11 manufacturing facilities.
