ZenDerm Products launches new hydrating serum

ZenDerm Products has launched a new over-the-counter topical product ZEN+DERM Hydrating Serum, which is claimed to soothe dry, flaky, itchy, and sensitive skin.

Formulated by fermenting sugar, the serum comprises a blend of natural proteins, peptides, and amino acids that are said to help hydrate the skin. ZenDerm avoided using steroids, fragrances, dyes, or oils to reduce the chance of irritating sensitive skin.

The serum has received a Seal of Acceptance from the National Eczema Association following validation of its safety and performance in various tests.

One clinical study saw volunteers using the serum while being monitored by trained clinicians. A dermatologist analysed the results and measured them on a scale of one to ten.

Subjects reported immediate and temporary soothing of unwanted symptoms with a decrease in severity from 7.8 to 1.9 on initial application. The dryness and flakiness severity was said to have reduced from 7.7 to 1.8 following daily application for 21 days.
