Tengram Capital to acquire RéVive brand from Shiseido

Private equity firm Tengram Capital Partners has entered a definitive agreement to buy Shiseido Americas’ luxury skincare brand RéVive.

The transaction is expected to strengthen Tengram’s existing beauty consumer product portfolio, which includes Nest Fragrances, Algenist, This Works, and Cos Bar.

As per the terms of the agreement, RéVive will be operated as an independent and stand-alone entity based in New York City and will be led by Tengram’s operating advisor Elana Drell Szyfer.

Szyfer said: “RéVive has always been known for the quality and efficacy of its products. Its performance and positioning is well poised to appeal to a discerning skincare consumer domestically and internationally via both current and new channels of distribution.”

Purchased last year by Shiseido Americas as part of its Gurwtich Products acquisition from Alticor, RéVive offers skincare products formulated using Bio-Renewal Technology.

The brand was introduced in 1997 and is distributed at Neiman Marcus, Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Barney’s, Blue Mercury, and Cos Bar in the US, as well as at certain locations in Canada, the UK, Europe, and Asia.

Shiseido Americas president and CEO Marc Rey said: “We are confident it will be well supported by Tengram while Shiseido focuses on continuing growth across our strategic portfolio of brands and businesses.”
