Deals this week: Marico, Douglas, Sephora

Marico has purchased hair styling brand Isoplus through its subsidiary to support and complete its ethnic haircare and styling portfolio.

JM Products currently owns Isoplus. It will receive Rs75m ($5.75m) as consideration for the deal, which is expected to be completed by Q3, 2018.

JM Products is an African-American firm with key operations in South Africa.

Douglas has acquired 103 stores and an e-commerce platform from Perfumerias If, a perfumery and cosmetics chain owned by Eroski.

Douglas is a beauty retailer based in Germany, while Eroski is a retail chain based in Spain.

The deal is expected to strengthen Douglas’ position in the European market and its recent purchase of Grupo Bodybell, a Spanish perfumeries chain.

Sephora has reached a stocking agreement with Amyris for its skincare offerings of its consumer beauty brand Biossance.

Sephora will stock Biossance products at more than 60 of its stores in Canada starting January 2018.

Biossance constitutes 100% plant-based squalane skincare product range including 100% Squalene oil, Squalene + Peptide Eye Gel, and Squalene + Probiotic Gel Moisturiser.
