L’Oréal partners with STATION F to support early stage beauty startups

L’Oréal has entered a strategic partnership with STATION F to support the development of early stage digital beauty startups worldwide.

Under the new partnership, L’Oréal will operate its own beauty accelerator inside STATION F to finance 62 workstations within the STATION F campus.

The L’Oréal accelerator will also support selected startups through networking and mentorship.

L’Oréal chief digital officer Lubomira Rochet said: “Digital is transforming beauty and we see a shift towards augmenting the consumer experience through services such as colour try-on, diagnostics, online beauty consultations, live broadcasting, and personalisation.

“Our partnership with STATION F is strategic to help us connect, collaborate, and support the rising generation of digital beauty entrepreneurs.”

The latest partnership is expected to help beauty start-ups accelerate their development and create an innovation synergy to address the diversified requirements of beauty consumers worldwide.

It is a part of L’Oréal’s large-scale digital open innovation strategy, which covers investments in global venture capitalist firm Partech Ventures and UK-based digital accelerator and incubator Founders Factory.

Based in France, L’Oréal currently has a portfolio of 34 diverse and complementary brands. The company also has presence across all distribution networks such as mass market, department stores, and e-commerce.

STATION F has been created and backed by French tech entrepreneur Xavier Niel.
