L’Oréal Paris introduces new mobile app for women

France-based cosmetics and beauty company L’Oreal has introduced a new My L’Oréal Colorist, a new mobile application for women that serves as personal colour consultant.

Available as a free downloadable app from Mac Apple Store, it is said to initially helps users to either ‘Scan a Shade’ or ‘Find a Shade’.

The firm said the apps’ first option allows the consumers to use their mobile device to scan the UPC barcode of the L’Oréal Paris hair colour product/shade they are interested in.

According to the company, the Find a Shade option comes with a short questionnaire that allows both at-home and on-the-go users to browse before learning their shade recommendation.

The application has also been designed with a true-to-tone hair colour visuals for navigation, where users can also share information regarding permanent or non-permanent colour they are looking for.

L’Oreal said the app also allows the consumers to select the colour tone for hair, which they prefer to achieve in crème, gel or foam form.

The firm said it is currently offering five hair colour brands for consumers to choose from the app, to give a choice of shades to the user.

L’Oreal’s current shade offerings include Superior Preference – Gold Standard in hair colour, which provides 8 weeks of colour; Excellence Creme that addresses colour with 100% grey coverage.

The new offering range also has Féria, a multi-faceted colour and 3X, the highlights along with hues; Healthy Look Crème Gloss Color, a no-ammonia hair colour lasts through 28 shampoos and delivers natural, healthy-looking colour; and Sublime Mousse by Healthy Look, a mousse formula that is easy to apply as shampoo and convenient for first-time hair colour users.

My L’Oréal Colorist app is available for a free download from LorealParisUSA.com/MyColorist for iPhone users. While the L’Oréal Paris hair colour products are available at drugstores, food and mass retailers across the US for $10.00.

The company claims the new app not only engages the consumer with the tool, but they can also identify their ideal hair colour shade, view product ratings, reviews and more details on a range of firm’s hair colour product lines.
