Inolex introduces new natural emollient range for cosmetic formulations

Inolex, a US-based personal care and cosmetics ingredients manufacturer, has introduced LexFeel, a new range of 100% natural and sustainable emollients, which can be used in cosmetic formulations.

According to the firm, the new range, made from bio-based succinic acid, was developed by chemicals company BioAmber.

The firm said BioAmber had provided the technology platform for the bio-based succinic acid, which is derived from renewable agricultural materials, and is a direct substitute for petroleum-based succinic acid.

Inolex said the new succinate emollients are highly-versatile as they possess sensory properties and ability to disperse pigments.

The firm said the new products are silky, powdery, light, dry, non-greasy, appealing and possess differentiated sensory feel to touch, which is said to be a characteristic property of silicone fluids.

Inolex said the new fluids can be used in skin care, hair care, colour and antiperspirant products to provide shine and a light fast-drying emolliency.

Inolex business director Daniel Winn told cosmeticsdesign.com that the new range of fluids offer an opportunity to afford the benefits of silicones in an all-natural formulations with a sensory experience, which meets the advanced consumer’s hygiene and beauty needs.
