Ashland opens new technical centre in Mumbai, India

Global speciality chemical company Ashland has opened a new Care Specialties Technical Center in Mumbai, India, with an aim to better support producers of personal and home care products in India and Southeast Asia.

The firm’s new facility is located at Jaswanti Landmark, which will serve as a focal point for the company’s research and development (R&D) work, with operations in the region.

According to the firm, the Indian personal care expenditures has an approximate 15% growth annually.

The firm said the new facility will work to develop the latest personal and home care products to market and also provides technical support based on consumers rising expectations for higher-performing products.

Ashland Specialty Ingredients group operating officer and president John Panichella said the company has opened new facility as there were number of requests for assistance from companies in India over the past several years.

"Today, we dedicate the new Ashland Care Specialties Technical Center to all of the companies in the region who have asked for our help in driving new products to market – products that will better support changing consumer needs in India, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia," Panichella added.

Ashland Specialty Ingredients is a US-based firm, which offers technologies and resources for addressing formulation and product performance challenges in key industrial applications such as personal care, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, coatings and energy.
