Ireland to post marginal rise in growth rate in five years: Report

The growth rate of Irish male toiletries market is forecast to marginally higher in the next five years, compared to 2006-11, finds a new study by UK-based research firm Canadean – Health & Beauty.

According to the report ‘The Male Toiletries Market in Ireland, to 2016’, the overall compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for 2011-2016 is likely to be pegged at 3.85% over 3.59% that Ireland experienced in the last five years.

All the segments of the male toiletries market are likely to grow better going forward over the review period figures in terms of market value.

Men’s disposable razors & blades, which is the leading segment with about 63% market share in the industry experienced a slight decline from 2006 to 2011 and forecast to drop further by 2016.

The second leading segment, pre-shave cosmetics – men’s, however showed a marginal increase in both review and forecast periods.

The remaining two segments, post-shave cosmetics – men’s and aftershaves & colognes have experienced similar market share and CAGR throughout the 10-year period.

Canadean observes almost similar trend to continue in volume terms as well, with the CAGR of almost all segments have surged except for the market leading men’s disposable razors & blades which is likely to post minor drop during 2011-16 over 2006-11.

The overall CAGR of Ireland’s male toiletries market in volume terms is expected to reach 3.01% against 2.87%.

The survey also provides market value analysis by brands and by distribution channel for the year 2011, while assessing the overall market focus.
