Danish skincare market to make further leap in coming years, says report

Skincare market in Denmark is set to make further leap in the next five years, finds a new survey by UK-based research firm Canadean – Health & Beauty.

The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the market is forecast to be nearly 17% higher in 2011-2016 than the growth rate posted during 2006-2011, revealed the report ‘The Skincare Market in Denmark, to 2016’.

Individually, each segment of Denmark’s skincare market including body care, depilatories, facial care, hand care, make-up, and remover are expected to show a notable rise in their CAGR against the review period.

The surge in growth rate is also anticipated in market volume, which is set to grow by 2.30%, marking at least 13% rise over 2006-11.

Canadean’s survey reveals that all segments would show improvement in their growth rate over the next five years even in volume terms.

Among the segments, facial care and body care are projected to maintain their top two positions respectively both in value and volume-wise market share.

In value terms, facial care held more than 72% share in both 2006 and 2011 and is likely to retain similar share even in 2016. Body care too is expected to continue its momentum with a share ranging between 14% to 15% in both review and forecast periods.

In volume terms, body care segment ate into the share of facial care to a large extent. Facial care’s share has been and is likely to be around 38%, while body care stands at around 32% throughout.

The report also covers value and volume analysis by segments, besides providing with value analysis by brands and distribution channel in Danish skincare market for 2011.
