StriVectin announces new Retinol technology’s acceptance

The 9th World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology, which was held in Athens, Greece, from 27 June -30 June 2013, has members of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology (IACD).

StriVectin conducted a four-week study to showcase the performance of its new technology.

The results of the test indicate that the Advanced Retinol technology when combined with the company’s multi-patented NIA-114 molecule work better than prescribed Retinol without irritation or skin sensitivity even when used in various concentrations.

StriVectin’s new technology can be found in the new StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Eye Treatment and Day Treatment with SPF 30.

The skincare company submitted an abstract to the committee, titled "To Determine the Ability of NIA-114® Molecule plus Retinol to Effect Changes in Facial Skin Elasticity, Moisturization and the Appearance of Facial Lines and/or Wrinkles Compared to Prescription Retinoid, for their Review."

Submission of the study highlighted StriVectin’s result, which were determined after 4 weeks of usage during a 12-week, that were randomised, baseline controlled, double-blind, clinical trial conducted by a third party independent testing facility.

During the study, four subject groups of 130 females between the ages of 40 and 65 were tested to determine the ability of an eye cream and SPF day cream containing NIA-114 and non-prescription retinol to the impact on skin elasticity and moisturisation.

The study was also conducted to determine the potential of the test materials to reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles when compared to Tretinoin and a placebo without irritation or potential side effects.

NIA-114 molecule has the ability to be absorbed into the skin and strengthen and build skin barrier, improve its durability, tolerance towards Retinol and reduce sensitivity.
