Male Toiletries market in Australia to grow at 3.5% by 2017: Report

Male Toiletries market in Australia will record 3.5% compound annual growth rate during 2012-17, a 0.2% increase from 2007, says a report by Canadean Cosmetics & Toiletries.

According to the report, "Market Focus: Trends and Developments in the Male Toiletries in Australia," male toiletry products accounted for 5% of all Health & Beauty retail sales in 2012.

Men’s disposable razors & blades category will continue to hold a major share in the market at 75.3% during 2012-17. This, however, is a decline from 76.5% from the previous five years.

The report says, "A change in gender behavior has seen Australian men seek greater comfort when shaving, as well as developing an increased interest in their appearance; this is driving the Male Toiletries market in Australia."

Hypermarkets & Supermarkets saw maximum sales of Male Toiletries, accounting for 44% of Australian retail value sales in 2012, followed by Convenience Stores and Health & Beauty Stores.

According to the report, the value of Pre-Shave Cosmetics – Men’s is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 5.3% in Australia, during 2007-2017.

Aftershaves & Colognes is set to be the highest growing category in Male Toiletries market while Post-shave Cosmetics – Men’s would be the lowest.
