Encore Consumer Capital invests in Lorac Cosmetics

Private equity firm Encore Consumer Capital has invested an undisclosed amount in Lorac Cosmetics.

American make-up artist founded Lorac Cosmetics, which is based in Valencia, California. The company offers Hollywood-inspired formulations across all color cosmetic categories.

Encore Consumer Capital managing director Kevin Murphy said: "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be involved with this special brand that Carol Shaw first introduced to the world 20 years ago that has since earned a unique place in the prestige beauty world.

Intrepid Investment Bankers were the financial advisors to Lorac.Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck provided legal counseling to Encore Consumer Capital. Irell & Manella acted as legal counsel to Lorac.

Lorac was initially launched with 10 shades of oil and fragrance-free foundations, made with ingredients that meet global standards..

Later, the company went on to develop skin-perfecting powders, nourishing lotions, and seasonal color collections inspired from the looks that the founder had created on her celebrity clients.
