M&As this week: Johnson & Johnson, Shiseido

Johnson & Johnson Consumer has plans to bolster its consumer business by buying the hair and personal products company Vogue International for $3.3bn in an all-cash deal.

The deal is expected to close in the third quarter this year, and will also include other brands owned by the company such as the FX line of hair styling products and the OGX collection of hair, bath and styling products.

Shiseido Americas is to acquire Gurwitch Products from its parent company Alticoro.

A definitive agreement has been signed between the parties.

Under the agreement, Shiseido Americas will gain ownership rights to the brands under Gurwitch. These include bath product brand Laura Mercier and luxury skincare brand RéVive.
