M&As this week: Johnson & Johnson, Dabur International

Johnson & Johnson Consumer has announced the completion of its acquisition of Vogue International from Todd Christopher and private equity firm, The Carlyle Group. Todd Christopher is the founder of the target company.

The $3.3bn transaction was completed in cash by beating rival bidders Henkel, Unilever and L’Oréal.

Vogue International develops, markets and distributes haircare and other personal care products.

The acquisition adds a number of Vogue’s products including FX line of hair styling products, Proganix and Maui Moisture hair care lines, and OGX collection of shampoos, conditioners, treatments, styling products, body care and bath products to Johnson & Johnson’s kitty.

UAE-based cosmetics, toiletries and healthcare products maker Dabur International Limited has fully acquired South African cosmetics maker and trader DISCARIA TRADING (PTY) LTD.
