M&As this week: L’Oreal, Unilever

IT Cosmetics, a make-up and skincare brand based in the US, has been purchased by L'Oreal in an all-cash transaction.

IT Cosmetics will become a part of L’Oréal’s Luxe division following the $1.2bn acquisition.

L’Oréal will further enhance its offerings by the addition of more than 300 IT Cosmetics’ beauty products through the acquisition.

IT Cosmetics specialises in developing clinically proven and innovative colour cosmetics and skincare products.

Unilever will acquire Dollar Shave Club in an undisclosed transaction that is expected to be completed in the third quarter this year, subject to regulatory approval.

Dollar Shave Club is a male grooming business based in California, US. It offers products including Wanderer men’s personal wash products, Big Cloud men’s skincare products, Boogies hair styling products, and One Wipe Charlies daily wipes.
